Threads surely want to emerge as the new alternative to X. It also wants to draw creators and users to leave the X platform amidst the allegations of the platform promoting divisive content.

Nevertheless, it’s important to know how it can capitalize on the situation by improving its operations. First of all, Threads needs to focus more on topics that are trending. Also, the platform needs to make it easier for users so that they can engage in more numbers whenever there is a major event or occasion.

Not focussing on the latest developments has been one of the major problems with Threads. There is no point if the users of Threads still have to visit X to get the latest updates about sports and other events.

Further, Threads does not have a proper display of Trending Topics. Also, the testing of its topic tags is also at a very nascent stage, and Threads is testing topic tags only in a few selective regions.

In addition, you cannot search and find the advancement of events in chronological order. So, you may miss out on the recent developments of a big event.

Adam Mosseri, the chief of Instagram, says that the Threads team is not looking forward to making content appear on the platform in chronological order out of safety concerns. He explains,

To clarify, having a comprehensive list of *every* post with a specific word in chronological order inevitably means spammers and other bad actors pummel the view with content by simply adding the relevant words or tags.

There is no way to deny that the X platform has already taken the brunt of making chronological posts available to the users. Spammers can easily use trending hashtags in their posts for better visibility.

Overall, the Threads team is trying to provide a better and more authentic experience to its users. So, it is taking a “revised approach’ to content ranking.

It may slowly move to a model where content ranking will happen based on the newsworthiness and trustworthiness of content coming from different profiles. It will also assess how the profiles are coming up with content on specific topics regularly.
