This year has been great for Selena Gomez as she bagged the MTV Video Music Award for the best Afrobeats. Also, her “Single Soon” became her “13th top 10 hit on Pop Airplay.” She has also been the crowned queen of Instagram with the highest number of followers as a woman. But for the second time in the year, Selena Gomez takes a break from social media. Earlier, she took a break from social media as she wanted to take care of her mental health, an issue she continuously endorses.

This time, she is taking a break due to the ongoing terror and violence. In her Insta story, she wrote,

I’ve been taking a break from social media because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence, and terror that’s going on in the world. People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific. We need to protect ALL people, especially children, and stop the violence for good.

I’m sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can’t stand by innocent people getting hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t. Love, Selena.

The Rare Beauty founder came up with another follow-up Insta story with her sister’s baby picture. She wrote,

Having a sister, everyday has made me tragically sick. I would do anything for children and innocent lives.

Though Selena Gomez takes a break from social media, there is a lot for her fans this season. There is a debut of the third season of her Only Murders in the Building. Also, there is an announcement for “Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays,” a four-part series.

In addition, she has bagged five nominations in the 2023 Billboards Music Awards. So, it’s all glory for her!
